Are there any downsides to removing the reed valves and plugging the holes?lanciahf wrote:Reed Valves unscrew from the head. Some 79 had two or one depending if an air pump was used. Bayless Fiat Lancia http://www.baylessfiat.com/ used to sell nice allen plug bolts for a clean looking install. The threads are metric so you might be able to find an "import oil pan plug" that might work at the local auto store.

The only one that I can think of -- and this only applies if you have a catalytic converter -- is that without the air injection into the exhaust, the exhaust might strain the catalytic converter. In other words, it might run hotter and not last as long.Mleona27 wrote:Are there any downsides to removing the reed valves and plugging the holes?
