New Connecticut Fiat owner

Post by InnocentGuns »

Hello from a new 1977 Fiat 124 spider owner.

Looking to make connections locally for meets and worldwide for parts/advice and learn from the vast experience of the members on the forum.

The car I purchased is brown with tan top and interior.
Engine was rebuilt 500ish miles ago according to the seller with 55k showing.

Bumpers have been removed and body work started to fill in holes by previous owner

First items to address are new tires. Has 165-SR-13 currently but will be putting 185/70/13s on it.

brakes seem to be sticking and e-brake seems to be very tight. Will address that drag and brakes overall.

Top fabric is in good shape but rear plastic is cloudy. Will clean but not overly concerned as it will only be driven on nice days.

Glove box is out and is missing hinges so will see if I want to do custom dash or just find hinges to fix.

I already replace a leaking return fuel line.

Driver seat has a few tears. looking to find replacement covers and add heating elements when i reskin.

I am sure I will find more items once I get the car into m garage in the next few days.

Best regards,
Mark

Hi Mark
and welcome to this place! You will find answers to any question! Can we get some pictures from your car?
Is your car already listed in the worldwide Spider Register?

Connecticut actually counts 109 cars, but no brown CS1 type:

Good luck with your car!

Tim Beeble is an active member here and in FCA, located in Bethel, CT. He'd be a great resource.

I saw the FCA Facebook group. A decent chunk to become a member. Any benefits of joining?

Link works!
Seems to be a good base for your work! A nice color combination with this 797 "Dark Brown".

Cheers Ralf

PS: The VIN would be nice to include your car in the Register!
