Thanks for a great forum. I've been reading / researching various topics for a few months now and I'm glad to see an active and knowledgable group. I'm picking up a 1975 spider tomorrow and bring it home to restore. It's in need of a lot of work so I hope to leverage the forum as a good resource in addition to my Hayes manual.
I'll be doing some rebuilding most of the mechanical parts, a bit of body work -- some dents, a bit of surface rust on one of the fenders, and some rust under the front grill and in the trunk next to the battery -- and a full redo of the interior. It's going to be a big project and I'm planning on doing everything myself, so I'm hoping to have it complete in 2-3 years.
Wish me luck!

Good luck, Jeff! Lots of people have (or are) doing exactly what you are setting out to do: restore a spider. Fairly easy to work on, readily available parts, and fun to drive. What more could you ask for?
