Re: Engine oil
I use modern synthetic oils with a zinc additive. Similar to break in lube for camshafts. Never had a problem. Only problems came when i used to run cheap oil. it is cheap for a reason!

Re: Engine oil
Hello Beek. Do you add the additive or use oil with the additive already in it? If you add, what do you add and how muchBEEK wrote:I use modern synthetic oils with a zinc additive. What problems did you have with the cheap oil?

Re: Engine oil
Hi!
Have 2 L TwinCam ( model 132 on block)
Use 5W-40 Sintetic oil. But if engine is cold - pressure is obout 2-4 bars, but after 30-40 min (or even faster) - with temp of coolant is about 80-90C - pressure is less than 2 bars, and even if car stops on redlight - a low pressure light can be.
What oil can u recomend to use in this case. Thanks a lot!

Re: Engine oil
You could try 15w-40 or 15w-50. Anything 5W- is usually too thin for these engines. You may have work bearings or pump though.

Re: Engine oil
Thanks a lot.
I open our local LukOil shop and compare speck
15W-40
Индекс вязкости ГОСТ 25371 / ASTM D2270 132
Вязкость кинематическая при 100 °С, мм2/с ГОСТ 33 / ASTM D445 13,4
5W-40
Индекс вязкости ГОСТ 25371 (Petroleum products. Calculation of viscosity index from kinematic viscosity /ISO 2909-81) / ASTM D2270 176
Вязкость кинематическая при 100 °С (Kinematic viscosity at 100 °C), мм2/с ГОСТ 33 / ASTM D445 13,6
As I can see - at 100 °C - is nearly the same

Re: Engine oil
I've been using Valvoline 20W-50 VR1 Racing oil with zink in my MGB, BMW2002 and now the Fiat.
