Vinyl Cover for Pininfarina console trim?

I am considering covering my Pininfarina trim with vinyl. Has anyone else done this already? If so, what color did you use? I am trying to match it with the original if possible since I only want to upper and middle console. I don't want to do the dash and glove box (they are in great shape). Here is a picture of middle console:

I am assuming this wood color is cherry but I am just guessing. Let me know what you think it is.

I replace mine with aluminium sheet because it was easy to work with. I also replace the timer and the dimmer with 2 gauges and there is a turbo timer in place of the badge.
