Fiat SPider Ferrari edition??

Post by WarbirdAL »

I dont claim to know everything about Fiat SPiders but this is interesting on ebay and with very little information or pictures .

Makes me wonder what some lengths some people will go to in order to sell a car.

I asked the question:
Dear zeebeach,

what makes this a "Special Edition by Ferrari"? Did Ferrari modify it after it left the Fiat factory or something?

answer:
Please go to Wikipedia.com, search "Fiat 124 Sport Spider", scroll down to "Production". You'll see the 1979 model 1995cc "Special Edition by Ferrari".

uh, huh. if you say so, Bub.

English paint on an Itlaian car makes it that much more rare.

Not only that, but there is a note right next to the claim about the Ferrari edition that a citation is still needed. I got the same answer as Danno and replied back to the guy that he didn't answer my question. I asked him again what differentiates this model from the others. I doubt I will get a second response, but I'll let you know if I do.

That looks like it had the same source as the wikipedia list. I wonder what the source was. I can't believe that Ferrari could have slipped a few "special" Fiat Spiders through the collective awareness of all us Fiat experts! (Said with tongue firmly in cheek)

Hmm;
I am catching the distinct odor of Bravo Sierra/Bovine Byproducts.
Why is the only references to this rare car on WikiPedia or other nebulous sources?
Why isn't this vehicle on Barrett Jackson list ??
It should command 30 to 60k if it is that rare.

Sorry but I cry foul..
