You're lucky to be able to shop in the US...I have to go to Europe for most parts. Spiderpoint is very good if you want to compare cost/exchange/shipping. Just do NOT ship UPS. They add on a "processing" fee for crossing the border that is not revealed at the time of getting shipping rates and as I recall it's a minimum of $35.

Thanks for the head up Jimb. It looks like I’ll have no choice but to order via the USA, so I’ll just grit my teeth and take my 78 cent dollar and spend it.
A made an order in 2012 that was about $580. Shipping, customs and duty= $380. I nearly passed out.

Motor vehicle parts 25 years and older are duty free imported into Canada no matter from which country.

what parts are you looking for? some of the fiats guys here in town have a few things they might be willing to resell.

I sometimes look at Rockauto for parts and i have found them good re shipping. Midwest bayless sometimes ships small stuff in the mail if you ask. I have found the key is to avoid Fedex if at all possible. Oh and if you can, shipping it to a business seems to reduce the price as well.
And finally i think some of the PO box outlets in Blaine will reship across the border for a fee since we cannot nip across and pick up stuff anymore. That way you can use the cheap US shipping to blaine and then hopefully still reasonable shipping from Blaine to Alberni or wherever.

cheers

Some parts are available at Lordco. I got a master cylinder for my ‘80 from them.

Yes I tried Lordco and a couple other local auto parts places. I brought an itemized list and gave them a week and they could get one upper ball joint that was in Ontario.
I’m after the usual, master cyl, Pads, ball joints and bushings, door seals, tie rods and a mess of other stuff. So I would rather order once and get it all in one shot. Now I see Auto Ricambi is out of stock on a lot of items probably due to the Pandemic so I’ll check out Midwest.
The wife and I usually rent a place in Palm Springs for 3-4 weeks every year, and that was my plan to get the stuff. Not likely now.
Thanks for the Blain idea though, I’ll check on that.

Thanks burgundy81, Seawings looks like it might be the way for me to go. My brother lives in Victoria so that makes pickup and delivery to my house easygoing well.

thewrenchmonkey.ca shows a lot of the steering and brake parts in stock. I have not used them but it's another Canadian option.
