Old style tail lights on newer body?

Call me crazy, but I prefer the simple rectangular lights of the older spider. Will they fit on a 1980 body?

yep. By how much, I am not sure, I've never held an older light up to it. I seem to recall someone else liking the older and having to weld up part of the hole. Maybe some searching would turn that up (but I can't guarantee that it was on this forum).
