L'undicesimo Cerchio

Post by rodo »

I just discovered this in an old medieval manuscript. Should have guessed Dante had more to say.

L'undicesimo Cerchio:

OK, I'll bite. Didn't Dante have nine levels, as such:

1) bleeding the brakes
2) replacing the heater core
3) replacing a clutch cable
4) totally filling the cooling system
5) electrical grounds
6) relays (see #5 above)
7) vacuum leaks in the intake
8 ) replacing a brake booster
9) removing a transmission that is too large for the transmission tunnel?

And my favorite: Previous Owners who did all sorts of, errr, uncalled for things.

Exactly, Bryan.

Somehow the levels just go further and further down. It really is like hell: just when you think you are past the worst of it all...

I have gone through each and every one of these levels and will be returning to the 9th this week.

Why, you ask? Because I found a gentleman on craigslist who rebuilds fiat 124 transmissions for $500 a pop. And he'll give you a discount if you return a core. Of which I have two, one full of new parts that he can use.

I bought fender covers for the fresh paint and a transmission lift thingy to make this not such a nightmare this time. Wonder if I can yank it out in in less than 3 hours...

I had to use Google translate (turns out owning an Italian car doesn't mean you speak Italian - who knew?) - That's hilarious.

I will have to confess: I do not speak Italian. I do, however, fluently speak Google.
