Hello Fiat Spider Nation. Thank you for the add. I have a 1969 124 Spider I obtained from my best friend. The back story on how I ended up with it from my friend...He purchased it in the early 80's drove it around for a few years, then decided he wanted to restore it. It sat for almost 30 years as professional life got in the way. Unfortunately he wasn't able to finish the project because Cancer took him a few years ago. Before he passed, I helped him with a lot of his unfinished business and he told me to drop off the Fiat at the Junk yard. I told him that I wasn't going to do that knowing he always loved that car. So here we are today; I've decided to move forward with the project he never finished. I look forward to honoring my friends memory with this restoration. I also look forward to talking and learning from many of you. Thank you and best regards, Brett.

Thank you for sharing this heartwarming story, Brett, and also for saving that '69 from the junkyard. Unless it's a major basket case in terms of rust or body damage, the older spiders are fairly desirable amongst the right set of buyers, should you decide to restore it and then sell it.

I also have a '69 spider, and it goes back in the family all the way to the day it was purchased from the dealer on my birthday (just a coincidence). I was but a young 'un, but I still have the car with an extraordinary set of memories to go along with it. My goal is to have the car outlive me, and so far, it appears to be winning. :D
