OK... So I failed the ten minute swap, it didn't go as described above.
After 6 hours of wrestling work and the worst install experience of my life, my advise to others thinking of doing this install on their back and on ramps is to forget about it, pull out the lawn mower and cut the grass instead. It will be time better spent.
Let the professionals get paid for this one.

Guys,
Good advise here. I also had to coax the sway bar slightly with a large C-clamp between the bar inside of the busing and the lower A-arm.

Re: How to replace anti sway bar bushing
I was able to follow this thread to reinstall the 1" swaybar. However, I'm very nervous about overtightening the bracket nuts and breaking the stud.
Question: Should I tighten the all the nuts until the brackets are flushed to the frame? It just doesn't like like the new polyurethane bushings would compress enough for the brackets to be flushed with the frame?
All quick replies would be greatly appreciated so I can put it all back together

I have a1"bar on my 82, but I used rubber bushings. Don't go over 18 foot pounds of torque on the nuts and you shouldn't break the studs. I am not in favor of the polyurethane bushings as I think they are to hard on the a-arms.

Re: How to replace anti sway bar bushing
I'm happy to report that I was able to tighten down all the brackets enough to feel good about the installation. It was somewhat sketchy in the beginning because some of the gaps were more than 1/4" between the bracket and the car frame. I just very very very slowwwwwly tightened a little at a time. I must say that on the middle 2 bushings, the poly was squeezed so tight that only about 1/4" of poly is visible between the bar and the outer bracket.
