Hi folks,
Brand new FIAT owner, but I've wanted a 124 Spider since I was a kid. Well, now I have one - it's a 1981 2000 with about 81k on the clock and it's got it's shares of issues. However, I roosted around in this little red toy for a couple weeks and a couple hundred miles and had a heck of a good time.
I am mid-point on a whole bunch of common upgrades and much needed maintenance items (4 weeks now on the jack-stands) and I'm sorta close to getting it back on the road. I love it. In my 62 years I have owned almost 50 cars/trucks. 3 Corvettes, 4 65-66 Mustang fastbacks (including a 66 GT-350 Shelby), a '68 Roadrunner 383 Magnum 4 spd, various Broncos... yada, yada, yada. But, it's my opinion that this Italian roadster has more "soul" than any other car I've ever owned.
Central California guy (Fresno), so if there's any others on here in the area I'd love to hear from you. Heck, I'd love to hear from any of you
cheers,
Andiamo (Mike)

Welcome aboard. I had a 1981 that I sold when I finished the restoration on my '74. I wish I still had that car. You're in for a lot of fun!

Thanks A.J.! I'm happy to be a part of this and thankful for the wealth of knowledge in this forum. Hopefully I'll be contributing as well once my own experience and knowledge grows.aj81spider wrote:Welcome aboard. I had a 1981 that I sold when I finished the restoration on my '74. Welcome, Mike, and I hope you'll share your experiences with your car and any questions that you have. Not to sound overly "mushy", but I think we all learn from each other regardless of the level of experience. I certainly do.Andiamo wrote:Hopefully I'll be contributing as well once my own experience and knowledge grows.
While I am not in the Central Valley, I am east of the Bay Area (Livermore), so not too far I guess.
