71 Spider - Really?

I saw this spider on ebay and it is listed as a '71. Am I losing my mind here in thinking that this is certainly a 79 or 80? Also, how are they getting $1000 for it, in that condition? The interior is nice but something still seems fishy to me. It is listed as 5,591 miles but in one of the pictures you can see that the mileage is ****55.3 miles. I will get off my soapbox now.

Definitely a '79 or '80 as it is carbed. Rust everywhere. Dented oil pan (you know what that means). Who would bid $1,000 on that??? Fortunately for them, it is below the reserve. Run away, fast!

you didn't mention the bent panhard rod. But I don't think it's that bad a deal. Certainly worth $500, lots of usable stuff there

HAHA two suckers are already to $1000 on this car. I'm with Mark not worth more than $500 and that's pushing it.

two things; the seller is a used car dealer and he states the car is 100% mechanically. Now he didn't say 100% mechanically sound, it's just 100% mechanically. I'll assume that means all the parts are there

The hazard switch in on the upper dash panel between the reostats, and the seat belts are cable between the seats not plastic encased belts like in 80. I dont know if the F.I. were different than carbbed versions in 80
My guess is a 79.
