Peugeot version of the Spider?
Scouring the available TV shows during the pandemic. Now watching Season 3 of "Death in Paradise", a British crime/comedy drama set in a fictional Caribbean island. In one episode, the villain is driving what seems to be a Peugeot version of an early 124 Spider. Even has the Pinninfarina badge in the correct location. Quad headlamps and a different tail lamp assembly. No info on Wiki.

304S maybe 204S. Don't recall Quad headlamps but they had big clear turn signals under a square headlamp on the 304S cabriolet.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

That's right. Pininfarina designed a lot of Coupes and Spiders for Peugeot and Peugeot 504 Cabriolet is one of the loveliest Spider designed by Pininfarina.SteinOnkel wrote:There is a website for literally anything

Eerily similar. Looks like they grafted the front of a 124 sport coupe onto a spider from the windshield rearward. And moved the gas tank filler lid.

Yep, that's the episode. It appears that the Peugeot is not the same car as our Spider. Larger automobile all-around. Pinninfarina sure as heck didn't do a complete re-design, though! BTW, it is a cute show (on Britbox).SteinOnkel wrote:I think this is it, no? Death in Paradise S03E04 features a 1969 Peugeot 504

For those interested there is also an internet movie firearms database (imfdb.org) where you can find what those weird SF guns are actually made from.

If we are talking about THIS car... I would gladly make some room somehow in my garage for one of these!

(Not going to give up my Spider, though.)
Very nice car, especially with the 2,7L V6 PRV engine. The design was made by Pininfarina and the engine was developed after a joint venture from Peugeot/Renault and Volvo. They started the project with a V8 engine on the table but after the oil shock they decided to downsize the engine to V6. They just removed 2 cylinders from the V8. Not too bad but very expensive daily.

Re: Peugeot version of the Spider?
I saw one of these cars in person at The Best of France and Italy show in Van Nuys CA 2 years ago. It is one NICE looking car. The interior is definitely at step up from the spider. Better quality, larger seats., just looks more solid. Thing was, I just couldn't get past the Peugeot lion on the steering wheel! Really.... it looked like a "grown up" Fiat spider. I tried finding one for sale after the show.... Zero in the US available. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen one here and I used to look pretty regularly. They are available in Europe though. Always found 4-5 when searching. -SF
