I took mine to a glass shop about 10 years ago and it has been on ever since. I don't remember what it cost, but it wasn't expensive. I have never did go glueing on mirrors so I didn't try.

I just went with the clamp on Doorman Universal Replacement Vent Window Latches. A little dab of UV Resistant Wet Use Epoxy (this is critical) and they have held very well. Most Epoxy is not very UV resistant and some of the older formulations which lasted forever were likely to cause cancer in more places than just California so they are no longer on the consumer market.

I have wondered how those Light Activated compounds that came from the Dental Industry would work out.

Regardless of the adhesive the prep should follow CAD (Clean, Abrade, Degrease) before applying the adhesive even if the abrade is just with 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper. You should really not wait more than a few moments after the abrade and degrease steps since any material will start to blush and oxidize from the moment you have finished prepping it so no cleaning up tonight and letting it sit until the morning or even breaking for lunch and applying the adhesive a few hours later or even 30 minutes later. Depending on the environmental conditions you can have less that 15 minutes after the prep is done before enough blush oxidation has occurred to negatively impact the bond.
