I have a few oil leaks (that will be another post) so I’m trying to clean up the engine bay for better access by removing anything unnecessary. I’m in CT so I don't need any of the smog stuff. As far as I know the parts were installed but never put to use. So far I have removed the air pump and the EGR valve. I’m trying to remove the air injection rail now, but cant figure out how to remove the nuts since they’re in a very tight spot. Do I have to remove the valve covers to get to them?
Also, what specifically needs to be capped at the carb? There is at least one tube that was already capped by the PO (see pic). There is also an uncapped brownish tube that looks very oily inside. What is it?
On the passenger side there is a white plastic valve thing (see pic) with two green wires attached and nothing else. What is this? Can it be removed?
Thanks!
