Hey guys hopefully the images work. behind the rear sill and inbetween the control arm mounting point there's a reinforcement brace thing on a curved panel behind the sill, anybody have any idea what they're called and if people make them? Many thanks

Jack point?
Would probably have to cut one out of a parts car?

I think the jack point is the notch in the folded seam to the right of the thingie in question in the first photo.
At least that's where I put the jack.

May be a tooling brace

I'd call it rusty... But seriously, I think that is the bracket where the hold-down chains were attached when the cars were shipped over by boat from Italy. Two in the back and usually two points in front, either under the front bumper brackets on earlier spiders or two brackets somewhere around the front anti-sway bar on later models.

Hi Bryan - Thanks, I believe you're right about chain points for the boat ride over. I wont worry about it too much.

that makes a lot of sense, or as Tim said, tooling points to carry the car on fixture through the factory during mfg?

That hadn't occurred to me, but now that I think about it, that sounds totally logical. Good work, Tim.RRoller123 wrote:that makes a lot of sense, or as Tim said, tooling points to carry the car on fixture through the factory during mfg?
Maybe it's as simple as these brackets served two functions?
