Thanks, Bender. Looks pretty good in those photos! I should have added that I made judicious use of a hairdryer to soften up the vinyl. That was important. There is a bit of a rhythm with the glue. It has got to be nearly totally dry, on both the vinyl and the surface, then making sure which direction you are trying to go, you start gently working it down, smoothing, smoothing, warming with the hairdryer, smoothing, smoothing. (I found a heat gun too hot.) The four-way works well with heat, stretches easily, gets in the corners. I would encourage anyone to give it a try. This was new to me and after messing with it a bit, it started to come together.
However...I have no idea how the four-way might hold up in the sun.

I find it meant for automotive and outdoor vehicle applications. I'd guess that if the glue will stand up to the heat, the vinyl will also.
I guess I'll be finding out, rodo. I like the idea and I'll be ordering sometime soon,...
Best of luck with your's!

One question for you, rodo,...what contact cement DID you use? I'm curious,...I'll probably attempt this in the next couple of months.

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. There is ONLY ONE ADHESIVE to use on this, or maybe anything: DAP Weldwood Landau Top and Trim. Seriously, this is it. Nothing else comes close to this. I've tried them. Problem is that this stuff comes in gallon buckets = a whole bloody lot of adhesive. I got a small can of it from an auto upholstery guy here. Worth the trouble to get it.

Thank you, rodo! I will find it. I'll check with the local upholstery folks, first.
Just about to yank the windshield (to replace it, and complete this project) so your timing is perfect.
I could not match the "leather-texture" appearance of the dash vinyl, but I found some black 4-way stretch vinyl that looks a lot like pigskin in it's texture. It will look just perfect,...
I'll post some pics.
Thanks very much, again!
