So I have been curious about something for awhile regarding the timing marks. I have the 2L engine, with the factory crank pulley that has 3 belt positions, of which only 1 is used (combo Alternator and Water Pump).
The timing mark is on the outer edge of the middle pulley belt position, and there is a notch there that I have White-Outed for visibility. It lines up perfectly with the 3-position factory pointer system. (the white marked notch is just randomly at this crank position in this picture, at about 2.5 degrees advanced.)
But there is a heavy notched mark on the inner belt pulley position, that does not line up with the other mark. What is this for? Not sure, just curious about this.
