Warranty Questions

Post by ThomasPri »

I'm thinking of buying a 124 as I'm getting too old to work on my 76. But with Fiat not doing well sales wise and the possibility of them dumping Chrysler and pulling out of the US, I'm wondering about warranty or repairs. I'm glad the car is Mazda based so reliability of the electrics and chassis are not a concern but would Mazda work on these cars? I dont think I'd go into a new one as there seem to be a number of low mile 18s available and would be more of a new toy than primary vehicle. Thoughts?

I think U.S. Federal law requires a manufacturer to fully support an eliminated model for 10 years (10..?) But that doesn't determine the quality of support. Parts will certainly be available though. If the manufacturer were to leave the country, support would be transitioned to a third party. In this case, likely that Chrysler would do it.

Thanks. I would hope Fiat can turn things around. The new Spider is so much better looking (my opinion) than the Miata.
