Hi
I've given up finding an affordable (less than $70 / £50 / €50) replacement for my broken lock so wondering if anyone has discovered an alternative that could be persuaded to fit ? For example, from Alfa's, other FIAT's, MG's, Triumphs, Porches, Jag's.
Thanks
Nick

I don't have an alternative lock solution for you, but here's one possibility:

Not sure what the shipping costs would be, though. And there is no key although you might be able to substitute the tumbler core from your existing lock. Or live without a way to lock the glovebox.

When we replaced the dash with a California style dash the glove box disappeared so I think I still have the box lid and lock squirreled away somewhere.
You'd still need to replace the lock tumbler.

Whats broken about it? With most its just the plastic hook which breaks and many times can be restored with the guitar repairman's trick of Super Glue and Baking Soda. A new hook can also be made from a block of plastic or aluminum using a dremel tool/die grinder.
