Good gracious! I hope the driver was okay. I don't like how that windshield popped out but it looks like the car took the frontal impact the way it was designed to. What a terrible shame.

Glad he is okay,, and standing up at the end was a good sight to see.
Did you notice that he slid off the race track to the right and hit the Jersey Block and then swung around and stopped directly across the track . Quite a bounce he got.. And his wheel stayed on mostly but lost the tire. LD

Did you notice the rim come off the wheel? Breaking the wheel in that manner is indicative of the violence of that impact. As for the driver, it is indeed good to see he's seemingly alright.

Sucks badly though. What a beautiful car. I'm willing to bet that apart from his hitherto life story, one of the pervasive thoughts rushing through that driver's mind pre-impact would likely have been : "S#*T!! There goes all that hard work and money!!"

At least the Fiat died doing what she loved best, better than a slow rusting death in someones back yard. May she rest in pieces Very glad to see the driver on his feet. Looking at the drivers face through the sequence I never saw the "Oh Sh!#" look on his face like I would have had. Very calm or shocked guy.

Thankfully the driver gets out apparantly without any serious injury. Sadly the same can't be said for that Spider.

That is one awsome series of pictures, (awsome..not used in the good way) Ironically the dash does not have a crack in it, Page 2 picture 8. Anyone checked their lower ball joints lately?

Anybody ever have a Spider (or any other car) with a muffler at the end of the exhaust system, like this car?

has anyone here ever done the "under the axle" exhaust before? I like that....

I guess they don't have potholes where he drives, or maybe the car has only a few inches of rear travel?

What would be the benefit of running the exhaust that way?
