I sank enough money into my VW (that now has 3x the stock horsepower) to buy a spec e36s or an s2000 - cars that will outperform my car on the track any day of the week including sundays. That's life.
The world has enough Dodge Chargers. Anybody can go to the dealership, open their checkbook and buy one. Building a 175hp 124 on the other hand, now that takes skill, time and dedication.
OP should find a wrecked new 124 and swap drivetrains. A 1.4 multiair cs1 would be sweet.
