Fuel Injector high pressue hoses

Post by Roycape »

Hi all - I'm in the process of replacing all the rubber hoses on my '81 Fiat Spider. The hoses to the pump and the return hoses were replaced with no issues. These are straight rubber hoses and the ones after the pump are high pressure.

The question I have is regarding the a) rubber high pressure hose from the fuel line to the fuel rail in the engine compartment which has a metal thread on one end and a metal cap on the other end going to the metal fuel rail and b) the fuel hoses from the fuel rail to the injectors which have metal caps on each end.

How do you replace these? Where do you get them with the metal caps and I don't understand how they are fitted. Can someone please explain?

Much appreciated.

Not to easy a job. I had cut the hose close to the barb on the fuel rail the carefully shaved the hose close to the barb. Getting under the ferrule was tough but I did it. Once the hose is off replace with a FI clamp, Do this only when the fuel line is depressurized. Someone here could give some better detail
