Classic mistake

Post by rodo »

So, classic blunder: I did not take photos of when I removed the dash and lowered the relay board and the injector computer. The board is no trouble, obvious how it goes, but I cannot figure out the computer. Somehow...it sits in that "shelf" at the back, closer to the firewall. No idea how it screws in, bolts, if there is a fitting (that I've forgotten about). Anyone have a photo of how theirs is seated?

Hey Rodo - the relay board is screwed in by two screws but I think you figured that part out.

The ECU (computer) just sits on a cross member which I think you are referring as the shelf. Mine had a tab on the cross member that folded over the ECU from on top to keep it snug. I jammed a piece of flat foam in there to make it extra snug. I don't think there are any screws to hold it in place. With the relay board in there it fits pretty snug.

Hope this helps.

thanks, Roycape. Mine is not set up quite like that, however, your comments got me thinking. I dug through several old coffee cans for parts from the dash and discovered, of course, the metal bracket that bolts under the crossmember to hold the front side of the ECU. Had it in in about a minute. Hurrah! Now, if all the other electrical issues were this simple.
