Door Handle Oreintation

Post by red107 »

I just got new outter door handles from AR. I don't have my old handles and need to determine which is drivers and passenger. The replacements don't have part numbers on them. They are color coded, one has red on it and the other has black. This is for a 79 and up spider.

If you look at their website picture. The passenger door has a red tab and the driver door has a black tab. You could also give them a quick call to make sure.

With the offset three bolt pattern with the two bolts being on top and raindrop shape they are only going to fit that way on one side so even if there was no colored tab its pretty easy to tell which goes where unless you get the ones from AR which only reverse the tab location and not the bolt pattern but still enough detain in their pics to see the difference with red for the right side.
