muffler too loud

Post by grasshopper »

Hi all. I have a "Raptor" muffler on my Spider. I found it a bit loud so I had a resonator installed. I find it's just too deep sounding especially around 3000 rpm. The drone drives me bonkers. Is it the muffler or the resonator that makes it too loud ? I don't want to put on a restrictive muffler but I need to quiet this thing down a little in order to enjoy the driving experience. Any suggestions ?

Take the car as it is to a local exhaust shop. Preferably one that does full custom exhaust and stocks more than just Flowmaster. Explain the issue to the guys there and take one of them for a drive so you can pinpoint the times when the exhaust isn't to your liking. Let them recommend the changes and go with that.

Andy is right. Getting the opinion of an expert will save you time and money. Otherwise you’re deciphering opinions and that rarely works out well.

I just did mine in 2.5 inches all SS. First i only install magnaflow 3 chambers and it was way too loud for me. So i install a 14 inches long resonator and now the sound is much better.
