Replacing motor mounts question
I have the transmission out in my 83, and I have new motor mounts and I can't think of a better time to install them. My question is, do I need to disconnect the whole fuel injection harness from the engine, also, do the fuel lines have to be disconnected? I read the exhaust will have to be disconnected as well, the nuts at my 4-2 junction look crisp and the nuts at the cat look crispier. I'm thinking I will try to disconnect the exhaust from the cat side because I can get an impact gun on it. Thinking about it, could I remove the nuts holding the manifold to the engine and push it out way to slide the manifold off the studs while I lift the engine?

Re: Replacing motor mounts question
It's been 10 years or so, but what I remember is that I did mine with everything all together. Take the nuts off the motor mounts then raise the engine up as much as possible. If you can’t get the mounts out yet remove the brakets off the engine. Now remove the mounts, put everything back together and you are ready to go. I left out the part about dropping nuts into the crossmember and such. Good luck.
