Which way to turn fuel mixture ?

Post by grasshopper »

Hi all. On IDF carbs, which way are you supposed to turn the screw to lean out the fuel mixture ? My plugs are turning black. I've tried experimenting turning the mixture screws both clock wise (turn in) , and counter clock wise (turn out) and I am getting confused on this . I am running twin 40's, Faza 35/75 cams. The engine runs real nice but it seems to lack a little torque. I probably have to play with the timing a little. Anyway, I have read some posts on line that suggest that you turn in for "lean" and turn out for "rich" , and other postings that suggest otherwise. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

The mixture screw controls fuel flow - therefore you turn it out to get more fuel, i.e. to make it richer.
