I took some time this weekend to start tearing up my old carpet and clean out the interior. I removed the map pockets, as I find them more irritating than useful. Imagine my surprise when I remove the insulation and find a 3" diameter hole in the wheel well.
What is its purpose? As of right now, I'm sucking small animals and road noise into my cabin. I plan to put something over it prior to putting in new insulation and carpeting, but I'm just mystified.
My Fiat has speed holes!
Re: My Fiat has speed holes!
emergency emergency brakes. stick your foot through to stop the wheels.
(I do not recommend trying this as you may ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes)

Nick, usually the map pocket for the later cars have a recess for a speaker on the upper part that goes over those holes.
A 5-1/4" round speaker fits it perfectly.

If you look closely just above the map pocket there should be a 5 1/4" circle with an X through it to show where to cut out the speaker hole on the plastic.

Pope! How you doin dawg?
On my car there is a recess there, it's about 3/8" deep and has a square/roundish shape.
I assumed all the later models had it, but maybe it's only the primo 82' that do!
