Black trim above back seat
I made the error by taking the black trim off. It is the trim above the back seat. Now I am not sure which way it goes back on. Does the lip go on top or them bottom!!!

Re: Black trim above back seat
Is this the "band" that circles around the back, that hides the bolts where the convertible top is attached? If so, then if my memory is correct, this trim piece is diagonal on the ends (sides), and this trim is attached so that the longer part of the diagonal is on top. I just looked at mine, and in this orientation, the lip is on the bottom.

Bryan, do you think you could take a picture of yours?

I haven't uploaded a picture to this website, but I'm sure I could learn. In the meantime, take a look at the diagram on the website below. I know the diagram is not the greatest, but the part I think you're describing is #22 in the drawing. #21 is the metal band that holds the rear of the top down against the body. The trim piece #22 covers that metal band.

If you can see this in the drawing, the trim piece #22 is oriented so that the top of the trim piece end is "pointed" towards the front of the car, and the bottom of the trim piece end is closest to the rear of the car. Hope that makes sense.
If you still can't make sense of this, I can try to provide a picture (this assumes that mine in installed correctly, but it has always worked fine).
