Carburetor exchange
I am replacing a weber 32adfa with a 34adf carburetor on a 1975 spider. What is the best way to modify the throttle linkage? The 34adf linkage looks simpler, but it will require a different connection to the throttle cable and modifications to the bracket that holds it.

Re: Carburetor exchange
The 75-76 32ADFA carbs use a cable actuated throttle where the cable is attached to a grey plastic bell crank. The bell crank is attached to the carb primary throttle shaft via a nut with an anti-backoff washer. Pry down the tab on the washer, remove the nut and bell crank and transfer it over to the 34ADF in the same orientation. The 34ADF should have came with a tiny ball crank that will need to be removed first so the bell crank can go in its place.

Is there any way to utilize the throttle arrangement that is on the 34adf? It seems much more robust and simpler.

Re: Carburetor exchange
You would need to source a new accelerator cable for the 77-80 cars, potentially a new intake valve cover with the studs for the 77-80 throttle mechanism, and the throttle mechanism and push rod.

Thanks! Sounds like the transfer from the 32adfa is the much simpler way to go.

Thanks this has been great help. I have a vapor canister connector hose and float bowl vapor outlet hose from the 32adfa that seem to have no place to go on the 34adf. Do I need them?

Re: Carburetor exchange
I exchanged a 32 adfa for a 34adf on a 1975 spider. I have a vacuum port, the top of the canister and a line from the manifold that I am not sure where they plug into the 34 adf or if they need to. Any help would be appreciated.

I also do not have a charcoal canister bottom port on my 34 adf.

Also where does the mid canister line go?
