Hi All,
As the subject line indicates. I have a 1976 model Spider and want to install a late model convertible roof frame from a circa 1980 model. Do these bolt in? I hear that the header bow is the only difference. Is this correct?
Cheers,
Paul

Think the latches are different also.

Reading the header, I thought he was trying to transplant a new under carriage/running gear to an old body.
I thinking, that would be a real bag of worms..

Not sure however I see three different convertible top frames listed for the 124 Spiders and they are sold without the front bow. Its not apparent if the difference is just the tint of the rear side windows or not.

It is just the header bow that is different. And yes the latches may be different depending on exactly which year you get the top frame from.
That said the latches don't really matter as they are still lined up in the same spots so just use the ones that fit the header bow.
