Brake Master Cylinder Replacement

Post by CharlieB »

Hi all,
I am replacing the master cylinder on my '76 Spider. I noticed that when I try to attach it in place, the push rod from the booster tries to push the master cylinder off of the studs. In other words, I can't just bolt it back in place without having something to hold it in place against the booster. Is this normal? My pushrod is already adjusted as far as it can go.
This may be perfectly normal, I'm just not sure.
Any help is much appreciated.

Is the booster original or new? This is the adjustment setting for the booster push rod.

Thanks Odoyle.
Yes, it is the original booster and it is adjusted just as your picture shows. It's been a while since I installed a master cylinder and I don't remember it being an issue. Again, having some resistance may be perfectly normal, I just don't remember.
