This is a great resource, thanks for sharing. I wish I knew about this before buying a 5 gallon pail of rotella.

Good Article, FIAT recommends 15w 40 multigrade for all temperature ranges. I haven't seen any other in the store but the Rotella diesel.

Yes I checked the manual too. It also says SAE 30 is good for 0-35C. If SAE 30 is acceptable for this temperature range then 5W30 or 10w30 should also be good. I’m wondering if 15W40 is maybe the only multigrade oil fiat sold, so that was their recommendation for all temperatures.

Jon124 and others: I would guess that the manuel you noted was printed a long time ago. I don't think 15W-40/50 was often sold back in the 80s. If you can't find it in stores I would go to inline sellers. That's what I do. The really good stuff (Redline, Driven HR2) is not often stocked in stores. The market share is too small to give them shelf space..
