California dash questions
I’m new to this site so I’ll start off by saying I’m restoring a 1979 Fiat Spider 2000 Pininfarina, I’ll make a new thread on the build the last year as I just finished the engine and am moving onto the interior. Has anybody here installed the California style dash and tell me if it fits with the stock center console or not? Autoricambi hasn’t replied to my emails. I want to start building a custom center console before I get the new dash. but I’m not sure if the stock dash and the California dash are the same

Re: California dash questions
The California dash requires some customizing get it to fit properly and to secure it.
For the most part the windshield contour is pretty good, just need to get it under the rubber lip.
The OEM end caps won't work, I still need to address that to hide the hardware there.
I secured mine to the original mounting points using the brackets from the old dash and fiberglassed them to the back of the new one.
The original consoles will work including the upper one. They just need a.little persuading to get them in. I finished off the top edge of the upper console with a strip of push on black vinyl edge trim.
Some photos. The dash looks all black but only the top is, the rest is British racing green as is the exterior of the car.
