Carburetor linkage clip
I have lost one of my carburetor linkage clips. Does anyone have a spare?

Re: Carburetor linkage clip
I usually find most auto parts stores have universal replacements that will work. Sometimes they are in a multi-pack of assorted sizes found in the Help section of the store.

One if our suppliers has them, but they want 8.99 for one and 17.00 shipping which is ridiculous. I went to every auto parts store around and nobody had any. I magivered one but don't know how long it will last.

You may want to try here.

A link to the one you did find or picture of the one you are looking for would help me since I have a fairly rare Diesel Transplanted in mine so I do not have all the clips represented on mine aside for the throttle cable to throttle plate clip however its hard to imagine that a carburetor clip would be that hard to find unless you are looking for something more like a special made ball end linkage or similar. Every carburetor clip for the 124 Spider I have looked at so far has been pretty plain vanilla circlips, spring clips, metal/plastic toggles, etc.

The rod linkage is a ball and socket on each end. The clip is a cyclinder made of sheet metal has a slit running the length with a hole in the middle of the slit. I would take a pic but I can't get the pic app to work.

OK that's a bit different being the retainer clip for a ball and socket joint. You might search for generic throttle cable ends or even check out a local junk yard even if they don't have Fiats as that is common cable end used on a number of vehicles.brackie1 wrote:The rod linkage is a ball and socket on each end. As for shipping some of our vendors need to catch up and start using USPS for these small items as its so economical that most who ship with them don't bother charging for shipping. Added benefit is USPS many times will deliver a small item like that if its placed in an padded envelope next day or within two days for the same rate as a heavy letter which may still be less than a dollar.
Did you check out the link to Obert who does use USPS on small parts?
It took less than a minute to see that they do appear to carry that part new for $6.50 and used for $5.00:
