Is the spider registry no longer online?

If so, that's too bad. I liked looking through the VIN's.

Re: Spider Registry
Hi,
sorry to say: Actually the registry is down because of the new regulations of the European DSGVO (basic data Protection regulation) and some dunning mails that the publication of car data and license plate IDs is not allowed.
We are checking what is allowed and whats not. But all clubs have more efforts due to data security in clublife.
That's all Bullsh**!
Offline I am still active in collecting car data with more than 13,200 cars. Newest entries from unknown countries are from:
- ROU: Uruguay
- NA: Netherlands Antilles (Curacao)
- UA: Ukraine
Good to hear, that the registry is missed!
Hopefully back online soon!
Ciao,

Registry is online again, actually limited by the sizing of database space.
The registry Form works too, so you can contribute!
Btw.: we already found some cars in Africa especially South Africa and Nigeria.
You can find details in the statistics in our download area ('by region')
Bye Ralf

Re: Spider Registry
Many States here in the US are enforcing similar policies at the DMV and other agencies which makes it hard to contact a previous owner of a vehicle. Nothing considered Personally Identifiable Information will be published since it can be used by Identity Thieves or in the case of a specific car, collectible, etc personal property thieves, unless the individual agrees to allow their information to be published or publishes it themselves.rdv wrote:Hi,

Considering that you are much more likely to suffer from data/identity theft today than to be physically robbed it really is a very big deal.
