shiny steering wheel, the easy way.

Keeping it sharp - paint, wax, detailing, etc.

shiny steering wheel, the easy way.

Before:

During: (one hour with Citristrip, available at Home Depot. Lowes, etc.)

After: (using rags, plastic scraper, 200, 400 and 800 sand paper)

I opted to take the horn and steering column cover off, but leave the wheel itself mounted. Over all, the project was really pretty easy, and only took a couple of hours total.

This winter, I'll probably spend more time polishing more, along with the bezels, and maybe applying a clear coat.

I like these steering wheels. Have the same one. Take good care of that uncracked horn button!

I like it Hootch. In the past I have repainted the black but prefer the shiny look. I have a spare steering wheel (who doesn't) that I might try that on over the winter.
Tx for sharing.
