So drive for about 3 hours (at highway speeds) and charge for about 7. Sounds crazy, but really that's not a problem at all for just about all "around town" driving! Rarely does any around town driving exceed even a half hour. Off to the Dentist, the Packie, Gramma's, for groceries, whatever. But certainly not ideal for any Interstate distance.

In California is it legal to do an EV conversion other than a pre 76 car? Seems a 76 and newer car would not have original smog equipment when converted - even though it would emit 0 smog.

Next smog check when your tile catagory MP=E in CA. Never. Yep. DMV inspects onsite when theyvdump the “G”as rating off title. Easy.

ElectricSpider, am I understanding your posted specs on the website correctly? They seem to indicate you can drive ~130 miles and then need to charge for ~7.6 hours?

36 kWhr pack and charges at 5 kW per hours. Rarely drive top to bottom and charge around town as needed and can easily stretch a lot more than 130 a day with interment charging. It works well for our driving around SD county. Ran to LA a coupe times for the night and used free Tesla destination chargers at the hotel.

Kind of nice to know that the new battery tech offers more an more range... Curious to see what is in the new Roadster that provides 600 miles of prospective range... We upgraded the 308 pack after our generation one batteries that were terrible and added less than 50lbs and nearly doubled the capacity range and increased power delivery capaity (amps) 8x.

Will have more updates soon on the project.... it out for paint and body work.

A little delay but we are coming onto this project now.... 294/70 Orient Yellow OEM paint and now time get going on all the good stuff..... Stay tuned.

Apparently Mike at EV West drives with Jay in our 1st Electric Fiat Aug 30 on CNBC.... He drives the Fiat around town after a shop tour.... We are using a single Netgain Hyper 9 permanent magnetic drive electric motor. Super clean option that is modeling up like this. Installation starting soon.....

Nice to have a little more space to work on the project! Team is getting organized for the build. Note the early style bumper fitment and the body work to accommodate the earlier period correct indicators/running lights.

We are having some fun moving forward at a good clip now. BTW, we have expanded our build capacity with a new 2nd shop location in LA (Chatsworth) area and a solid team of fabricators, techs and engineering... If u r interested in checking out the build let me know... we can coordinate visits by appt. Nice to have space to build with a full compliment of services in house



New 12v battery location front and center mount being installed. Totally new 12v harness that eliminates about 75% of the gas related wiring. The hi-voltage motor controller loom is being installed here as well.





Motor Mounting Solution in the computer is coming together well. This will be a different mount system than made in the dual motor FIAT GTE#1 build. :





Interior Design: Looks like we will be doing something similar on the interior to this with some mods to paneling, gauge display, etc....



The Hyper 9 has more power than the AC-50 or 51 but less than the dual AC-34's. This should be a really fun driver. Estimating about 120HP and 173ft/lbs torque.

This should be the final rendering. Next up is actual installation. Varies from the dual motor Fiat 124 project in that the motor mounting system is now located off the adapter plate. Should provide good balance similar to the original mounting system & balance. We will be clear anodizing the billet as well for added protection from salty tropical environments

Image conversion work on the 82 to earlier model..... Front Bumper, cut in of the early indicator bodies, side markers round ..... Wondering here ..... Any idea if the older body style tail light body/assemble fits the later model vehicle?? Want to test fit the older assemble and would install vs the newer.... ??

Just wrapped up this neat Plug&Play 25 kWhr Tesla battery pack to drop into the GTE#3 Fiat 124 build. The modular nature of the pack will allow cross usability with similar projects in other vehicles as well. More pics coming....... Final Assembly in January as we expect to be driving by the end Jan 2019!
