Oil pressure light on a 72 resto

Post by goldman1 »

Restoring 1972 fiat spider...did up the engine first...new rod/main bearings, I rebuilt carb...re-did valves , seals etc. Looks great...got it running...sounds good...

Oil pressure gauge is good....oil pressure light stays ON....changed sender...light still stays on....i know I've got good pressure...

After a few starts...and letting the engine idle until warm...(light stays on) I decided to look at the lights in all the gauges...

Didn't have dash lights on the fuel gauge.

Turns out the oil pressure light and dash light in fuel gauge were in the wrong sockets!!! So, I reversed them.....now I've got dash light in the fuel gauge and oil pressure light goes off when I start the car!?(

Ain't it great when the solution is easy :) Finding it is usually a challenge though!

Yeah..you're right. That's the way it's been with car....im thinking the problems I've encountered during restoration were big...in fact it's been pretty straight forward.

Just brought the car to the body guy. 2 weeks and it will be looking great....too bad I'm out if town for 6 weeks...wont see it 'live for a while.
