speedometer issues

Post by MrBlimp »

The speedometer didn't work when I bought my spider - the cable was not connected nd the core was gone.

I bought the new cable but there is an issue. When the cable is stretched out the core is the appropriate length but when the cable is routed (through the hole in the firewall at the top of the train hump) the core sucks back and doesn't stick out far enough to engage in the train transfer device.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

I had the same condition with my replacement cable, but my original core was fine and slightly longer the replacement core. So I swapped the original core into the new sheath to resolve my problem. I think you'll either have to return the cable and try a different supplier--that or find a new routing for you replacement cable.

I bought the atp universal cable core but before I could get around to installing it the speedometer started working so I guess the cable seated itself!
