I failed! The stock air cleaner has 2 hose inlets. A large one for the PCV hose and a small one that I went to (I think) the stock carb.

I'm running one of Mark's EMPI DFEV 32/36 carbs which doesn't have anything to hook up to the smaller nipple on the air cleaner, so I simply capped it. Got bounced over that. Argh. Passed last year without any problems but this guy was more picky.

Man, if it passes on the sniffer that's all that should matter. This thing ran so clean that the guy could hardly believe it but I still got bounced.
