headlight adjustment screw hole stripped

Post by grasshopper »

Hi all. I have a Spider that I bought and trying to get sorted out. Passenger side headlight was pointing straight down so I tried to adjust it. In the process I found that the upper adjustment screw hole is stripped. Is there any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this without getting a new light pot ? Im trying to avoid buying a new one. I live in Canada and between money exchange, shipping charges and duties it gets very expensive. Any advice appreciated thanks.

Grasshopper, had the same situation a few years back. I noticed the hole stripped when installing a headlight relay kit and re-aligning the headlight. Prior Owner had used what looked to be electrical solder to get it to straight forward. I found a similar year car in a junk yard and purchased the headlight and headlight bucket for $15. Its getting harder to find these but may be worth a short trip if you have any salvage yards with listed Fiat Spiders in them.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
