Airconditioning

Post by grrrdot »

Hi,
There's a Fiat Spider that recently sold on BAT with an AC setup that replaced the upper center console.
Here's the car: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1981- ... -spider-7/
Anyone know what make of Air Conditioning this is?

I don’t recognize that particular evaporator unit, but Notalgic AC https://nostalgicac.com/ has several that are similar. Do you have AC now? Are you looking to add it to your car? I’m getting ready to rebuild the AC on my 1984.

I think there are several options for more modern AC retrofits for these cars. I'm considering doing it some time in the distant future on one of mine. In the meantime, I believe Csaba at AR refit his early 124 Spider with AC many years ago & Andy Truscott fit his 124 Coupe with one of the modern units in the last year or two. You'd find both I think at Mirafiori if you were interested in hearing some of the helpful tips & war stories. (I don't recall a thread, but it's easy to start one).
