Spring At Last

Yeah, yeah, I'm late. Two months so by the calendar. But ever fluctuating weather and some recurring health issues kept me from even taking a peek at my Spider, which Winters in an old car shed some distance from my house proper.

Well today was the day. Yippee!

Opened the shed for the first time since I put the lady away last November. Put the battery back in -- it has been on a smart charger since that same date -- got in. Turned on the ignition and let the fuel pump clack away for about 5 seconds. Three quick presses of the accelerator pedal, and a turn of the key. She caught almost immediately and went into her fast idle.

That was it. And yes, it never fails to amaze me.

I'd had her inspected just before putting her away, so that's it. Yes, I checked the lights. (All were working fine)

Gave a quick wash. Tomorrow I'll check the air pressure. Then we're off on our first back road adventure.

Not too bad for a car that came of the Turin assembly line some 42 years ago.

Not too bad lookin' either.

No visors?

Nope. The car came without them when we bought it used 30 years ago. Not having them has never been an issue.

Come to think of it my Ducatis never had 'em either. Hmmmm..
