For those of us whose don't know, what is the procedure for correctly aligning the hood? Mine is not aligned and it bugs the hell out of me.

The hood aligns fairly easily with the hinge pins on the front corners. I too had an issue with flutter after replacing my original with a "new" aftermarket hood that was not as beefy as the original. I did the soccer ball trick that Alvon recommends along with new corner pads and and making sure that the center release was about 1/4 inch below where the hood rested without being latched. I have had no flutter since. The hood even latches securely when letting it drop from about 2 feet.

I've got the problem too. I thought it was related to the fact that the air cleaner cover on my (stock) carb. is so high it makes an indent right into the insulation, and if not on really tight prohibits hood from latching properly. Thought if I moved the latch up, flutter would only increase. Now I've got to try the soccer ball tip to try.
