Range of years or codes that are same as '80 trans

I am looking for a manual trans to fit my 1980 2000. What codes on the trans, from whatever year tell me the gearing is correct for my car? Or, if someone knows what year trans they have, what years correctly match an '80?

ID on my old trans case are SEAT F or E A 128803 08
