Paint Code ( '81 FI Spider )

The paint code for car ( at least that what the decal has on it it ) is 136 F Rossi Red.

The car was supposed to have repainted some years back with the original paint color, and I an in need of some touch up paint.

If I take this code to my local paint shop ( Sherwin Williams comes to mind or a local body/paint shop ), can they give me some paint based on this code. I know the has probably faded a little, but I really do need to touch up some scraeches and rock chips. After which I will then buff the the car.

Any suggestion would be helpful and welcome.

Paint fades over time. I needed some touch up paint for my car last year. My car was painted roughly 20 years ago in an original Fiat color. However, when I went to the automotive paint store, they did a scan of the paint on my car in several locations and found a modern Nissan color that was a better match, due to the fading that took place over 20 years. So my advice would be to have your paint scanned and go with the best match that the computer chooses. I even bought some touch up paint in in the original Fiat color as well and the Nissan color the computer chose (because I was skeptical), but the Nissan color was nearly an exact match -- the Fiat color was just a little too blue.
