I think the value of the car, and how much insurance you want on it for the transport, may make a difference too?

My final cost for shipping from central NY (Binghamton) to Columbus, OH was 750.00.

$300 from N. Rhode Isl. To S. Maine. Around 190 miles. so yea, I'd say you did well. I used this broker and had a good experience:

I really appreciate the feedback from everybody. The car did get scratched,.. not too bad, but it did get down to the primer e:-( Shouldn't be too much to fix. We are haggling about the cost. In my area, (middle of New York state) the costs are hhigh due to a lack of competition. Probably ~$750.00

$750 is high but NY, go figure. I can basically get any one panel painted for $300 to $400 in SC. That includes new Mercedes.

I went ahead and got a second quote: over 1K !!! that is completely nuts!!! :shock:
The transport guy had "a friend" look at the photos and he gave him an estimate of $450.00 :|
Seemed a little low. But now I have to haggle with a shop.
